Chinese Journalist Visa is issued to foreign journalists.
J-visa has two categories:
- J-1 visa: It is issued to resident foreign journalists in China and their accompanying spouses and under-age children.
- J-2 visa: It is issued to foreign journalists who visit China for temporary news coverage.
Documents required for Chinese Journalist Visa
- Original passport
valid for at least 6 months before it expires from the date of application and sufficient blank visa pages. - One passport photo
black & white or color is acceptable. - One completed visa application form.
- Applicants for J-1 visa should provide a letter of visa notification issued by the Information Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry (the media employing the journalist should apply for the visa notification from the Information Department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry). His or her accompanying family members need to provide certificates to prove their status as dependants of the journalist.
- Applicants for a J-2 visa should provide visa notification issued by competent Chinese authorities.
Additional Information
- J-1 visa is valid for 3 months with single entry.
- J-2 visa is valid for 15 days with single entry, and duration of stay on the visa is decided by consular officers in the light of actual need.

Same day Chinese visa applications must be submitted before 10am and your visa will be ready for collection after 3pm on the same day.
Unique Visa Services do not take payment until the passport is submitted to the embassy.
